STANDARDS
and SAFETY FEATURES
1. Which
standard your equipment confirms to?
The equipment are built in line with the CE norms which are
the European norms directing the safety and technical
features of the equipment.

2. What
is the advantage of electric stacker over forklift?
It is difficult to compare one to one a stacker and forklift,
the advantage comes when the use is limited to indoors.
The stacker has a smaller turning radius and is a smaller
machine hence it increases the usability of floor space
and is a more versatile equipment
Top
3. What
are the safety features incorporated in the machine?
The safety features incorporated are :
-
braking in vertical and horizontal
position
-
auto direction reverse switch
-
horn
-
Release valve for lowering of the mast
in case of a leak
-
Metallic hoses where ever possible
-
4. What
is the turning radius & aisle width of the machine?
The turning radius is the angle required for a machine to
turn into a racking system or a gangway and is identified
in the catalogs of the respective equipment.
The aisle width is the width required for equipment to go into
an aisle and turn 90 degrees comfortably to enter
a racking system. Is determined by the length of the
equipment with the load on it.
Top
5. What
is the gradeability of the machine?
The gradeability of the equipment is the angle of incline,
which it can climb with and without load. This can
be calculated in degrees or percentage. It is a measure
between the rise in incline and the distance over
which it rises.
Top
6. What
are the test procedures you have at place in factory?
We have all necessary tests prescribed to ensure that the
product is tested for the application that it is being
put to. Necessary test reports can be provided if
required. Please refer to factory for costs involved.
Top
7. What
is the life of the machine?
Internationally the life of a machine is determined by the
availability of spares. It is a norm that spares for
any machine is available for 7 years and hence that
determines the life of the machine.
We have though made spares available for up to 10 years.
Top
8. Can
we use the equipment outside the plant?
Our equipment except the Tow Tractor and the Platform truck
are designed for use in house only.
Top
9. Can
we use the equipment for 3-shift operation?
The machines are normally designed for use in 3 shifts if
the batteries are replaced at regular intervals and
the equipment is given rest at regular intervals to
ensure that the motor does not overheat.
The interval is depending on the equipment and the same can
be discussed with the sales and service personnel
on location.
Top
10. What is the dead weight of your equipment?
Answer Is given in the catalog depending on the equipment and
can be downloaded from the website.
Top
11. What is the shut height, raised height
and the lift height of your equipment?
The shut height represented by (h2) of the machine is the
height when the mast is completely lowered and the
forks are resting on the floor. This is used to determine
the entrance into the factory.
The lift height represented by (h3) is the height up to which
you want the forks to raise.
The raised height represented by (h4) is the height of the
machine when the forks are at the maximum height (h3)
and is used to determine the clear roof height available.

BATTERY
12. What is the life of the battery we
use?
The life of a battery is calculated by the charge cycles.
The battery that we use has a life cycle of 700 charge
cycles. One charge cycle is when you plug in and once
and disconnect.
If the power goes off while charging one charge cycle is complete.
Top
13. What is the power consumption on
battery charging per cycle?
The power consumption for a complete charge is ….
Units
Top
14. Whether the opportunity charging
is allowable on the traction battery?
Opportunity charging is not allowed in a traction battery.
As explained above opportunity charging reduces the
life of the battery.
Top
15. How many hours of charging is needed
for a shift operation?
The battery charger has a auto cut off and determines the
time at which the charging has to be cut off. The
maximum time is 8 hours.
Top
16. Why don’t we use maintenance free
batteries with the equipment?
We will be in a position to provide maintenance free batteries
from the next financial year but the cost of the batteries
are about 50% more than the traditional batteries.

MAINTENANCE,
OPERATIONS and OPERATORS
17. What is the operating cost of the
equipment per shift?
The operating cost of the machine is the cost of machine per
shift and the cost of the operator, This can be calculated
if all inputs of cost, depreciation and other factors
are provided.
Top
18. Whether licensed operators are needed
to operate the battery powered equipment?
Answer
- No, but Maini has a team that can train and provide
certificates to the operators on a regular basis.
Top
19. What kind of service back up do you
provide?
We have fully trained service engineers located all over India.
Please click here.
We
can also provide operators on a turn key basis Please click here.
Top
20. What is the general maintenance we
need to carry out?
The maintenance schedule is detailed in the manuals on purchase.
Top
21. What are the parts, which fail frequently?
By our experience these new generation machines have very
few failing parts. While ordering the machine though
you should speak to the respective sales personnel
on the wear and tear parts.
Top
22. How often we need to replace hydraulic
/gear box oil?
Depending on the machine, they are provided in the manuals.
Top
23. What is the life of the carbon brush?
We use a sepex motor and hence the carbon brush wear is very
limited. It normally would be replaced once in 2 years.
Please regularly check them for wear and tear.
Top
24. What is the ideal floor condition?
the ideal floor condition is a clean floor without any pits
and bumps. It is not good if the floor is very smooth
since the tire will have an initial skid to take grip.
Top
25. What is the life of hydraulic seals?
By estimate it is 1 year but can also fail in a week.
Top
DEMONSTRATION
26. Can you demonstrate the equipments
at site for trials?
Normally machines are manufactured to order and hence the
demo can be given under the following conditions
We can though under normal conditions take the user to a location
where a similar equipment is working for first hand
feedback

COLLABORATIONS
27. Who are your collaborators?
At the current moment we have no collaborators and all the
machines have been designed and developed by us.
Top
WARRANTY
28. Warranty
All our equipment are warranted for 1 year working one shift
per day not exceeding 8 hours.
The warranty reduces if the number of shifts increases. For
example – if the machine is used 2 shifts that warranty
is only 6 months and on 3 shift basis for a max period
of 1000 hrs.
